C. E. Winters fell in love with movies and books when she was growing up in Southern California, and she holds degrees in drama and English from the University of California, Irvine. Cut!: How Lotte Reiniger and a Pair of Scissors Revolutionized Animation, illustrated by Matt Schu, is her first picture book.
Winters also writes novels for teens and adults as Cat Winters, and she has been named a William C. Morris Debut YA Award finalist, a Bram Stoker Award nominee, and an Oregon Spirit Book Award winner. Her novels have appeared on Kirkus, School Library Journal, and Booklist best-of-the-year lists.
She lives in Oregon, not far from an animation studio, as a matter of fact.
